Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept scholarships?
Is your program designed for students with special needs or IEPs?
What are your hours?
Tutoring sessions are available until 5:00 PM on Monday through Wednesday.
Do you have to be a student to receive after-hours tutoring?
What are your class sizes?
We keep our classes small so teachers can give each student meaningful academic support:
- Kindergarten: 1:8
- 1st Grade: 1:10
- 2nd Grade: 1:12
- 3rd Grade: 1:12
- 4th & 5th Grades (combined): 1:12
- Middle School (combined): 1:14
Do you accept new middle school students into your program?
We do accept names for our middle school waitlist, but placement is primarily offered to current students who have completed our elementary program, maintained strong academic performance, and consistently adhered to our code of conduct.
What is your approach on discipline?
What are Harmony’s core values and beliefs?
We are a homeschool community rooted in traditional core values, focused on strong academics, character development, and a supportive learning environment. We are grateful to be in a state that allows educational freedom, empowering us to teach in a way that aligns with our mission and the needs of our families.
Can I schedule a tour or attend an open house?
We appreciate your interest and will reach out to families when opportunities for tours or visits open up.
What do we expect from our Harmony students and families?
We are a fast-paced learning environment that does not expect perfection, but instead strives to connect each lesson to real-world experiences, helping students grow both academically and personally.
We also expect families/parents to support and foster their children’s effort and accountability as they aim to grow through our program. This support not only helps us to ensure academic growth, but maintains personal responsibility and accountability for behaviors and actions while enrolled in our program. Respect is a key foundational part and a consistent expectation of our community of families.
What curriculums do you use?
Each lesson is aligned with state and national standards using IXL, allowing us to ensure consistency, accountability, and to assess student progress across all subject areas.
Do your students use electronic devices for their schoolwork?
Each classroom is equipped with a Smartboard, which is used for instructional support purposes only. Chromebooks are introduced beginning in 4th grade and are used in a limited, structured way.
In grades 4 and 5, Chromebooks are used on a limited weekly basis, while in middle school they are used daily for specific assignments. All devices are equipped with appropriate safety measures and are used strictly under teacher supervision. Devices belong to our program and are never issued for student’s at-home use.
During holidays or time away, families have access to their child’s IXL account, allowing students to stay on track and complete work remotely using personal devices from home.
Do you require standardized testing?
However, if your child is receiving the PEP Scholarship, they are required to complete one standardized exam each year. Harmony administers the IOWA-E Exam each March (for an additional testing fee) for students who are required to participate.
What does the tuition and registration fee cover?
This fee covers your child’s yearly academic supplies and most field trips, excluding our end-of-year trip.
The annual program tuition is $13,000, which is divided into 10 equal monthly payments paid from August through May. Tuition covers your child’s monthly learning program throughout the academic year.
When is reenrollment for the following academic year?
Beginning February 1st, any remaining availability is offered to families already on our waitlist. If a space becomes available, you will be contacted directly by a member of the Harmony ownership team.
Do you offer sibling discounts?
Do you plan on expanding your program?
While we truly appreciate the continued interest and inquiries we receive, our priority has always been to keep learning highly personal and enjoyable through our small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios. To stay aligned with that mission, we do not anticipate expanding in the near future.
