Frequently Asked Questions

We know choosing the right educational path for your family is a big decision. This page covers the questions we hear most often from parents exploring Harmony Hybrid Education, from how our hybrid homeschool schedule works to what our certified teachers bring to the classroom each week. Whether you’re curious about grade-level curriculum, core academic instruction, or how our program fits into your family’s homeschool plan, you’ll find answers below. If you don’t see your question addressed here, we’d love to hear from you directly.
Do you accept scholarships?
We are not a direct Step-Up provider, but many of our families have successfully used the Personalized Education Plan (PEP) Scholarship to offset tuition costs. Families interested in scholarship reimbursement are encouraged to contact Step Up For Students directly to confirm eligibility for our program.
Is your program designed for students with special needs or IEPs?
Harmony Hybrid Education is a general academic homeschool program. We are not a therapeutic, special education, or IEP-based program. Families with students who require specialized services or accommodations are encouraged to seek a program specifically designed for those needs.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Tutoring sessions are available until 5:00 PM on Monday through Wednesday.
Do you have to be a student to receive after-hours tutoring?
No. We are happy to provide tutoring to any student, whether they attend another local school, program, or are homeschooled.
What are your class sizes?

We keep our classes small so teachers can give each student meaningful academic support:

  • Kindergarten: 1:8
  • 1st Grade: 1:10
  • 2nd Grade: 1:12
  • 3rd Grade: 1:12
  • 4th & 5th Grades (combined): 1:12
  • Middle School (combined): 1:14
Do you accept new middle school students into your program?
Due to our small program size, middle school openings are typically filled from within. We prioritize current students and their siblings as they advance through our program.

We do accept names for our middle school waitlist, but placement is primarily offered to current students who have completed our elementary program, maintained strong academic performance, and consistently adhered to our code of conduct.

What is your approach on discipline?
We utilize inductive discipline, a positive and reasoning-based approach to behavior. This method focuses on helping students understand how their actions impact others, encouraging empathy, accountability, and strong character development. We also value maintaining healthy communication and family support.
What are Harmony’s core values and beliefs?
At Harmony, we believe families should have meaningful alternatives to the traditional school system and the challenges it can present in today’s society.

We are a homeschool community rooted in traditional core values, focused on strong academics, character development, and a supportive learning environment. We are grateful to be in a state that allows educational freedom, empowering us to teach in a way that aligns with our mission and the needs of our families.

Can I schedule a tour or attend an open house?
Due to the high volume of inquiries and our limited availability, tours are scheduled as space becomes available.

We appreciate your interest and will reach out to families when opportunities for tours or visits open up.

What do we expect from our Harmony students and families?
We expect our students to come in each day with an eagerness to learn and a positive attitude.

We are a fast-paced learning environment that does not expect perfection, but instead strives to connect each lesson to real-world experiences, helping students grow both academically and personally.

We also expect families/parents to support and foster their children’s effort and accountability as they aim to grow through our program. This support not only helps us to ensure academic growth, but maintains personal responsibility and accountability for behaviors and actions while enrolled in our program. Respect is a key foundational part and a consistent expectation of our community of families.

What curriculums do you use?
We rotate through and integrate a variety of curriculums, all of which are approved by the State of Florida.

Each lesson is aligned with state and national standards using IXL, allowing us to ensure consistency, accountability, and to assess student progress across all subject areas.

Do your students use electronic devices for their schoolwork?
We value an, “old school” approach with a strong emphasis on paper-to-pencil learning.

Each classroom is equipped with a Smartboard, which is used for instructional support purposes only. Chromebooks are introduced beginning in 4th grade and are used in a limited, structured way.

In grades 4 and 5, Chromebooks are used on a limited weekly basis, while in middle school they are used daily for specific assignments. All devices are equipped with appropriate safety measures and are used strictly under teacher supervision. Devices belong to our program and are never issued for student’s at-home use.

During holidays or time away, families have access to their child’s IXL account, allowing students to stay on track and complete work remotely using personal devices from home.

Do you require standardized testing?
No, we do not believe a student’s academic ability should be measured by a single test.

However, if your child is receiving the PEP Scholarship, they are required to complete one standardized exam each year. Harmony administers the IOWA-E Exam each March (for an additional testing fee) for students who are required to participate.

What does the tuition and registration fee cover?
The $500 registration fee is required to hold your child’s place on our roster and is not due until you have officially received acceptance from the Harmony ownership team.

This fee covers your child’s yearly academic supplies and most field trips, excluding our end-of-year trip.

The annual program tuition is $13,000, which is divided into 10 equal monthly payments paid from August through May. Tuition covers your child’s monthly learning program throughout the academic year.

When is reenrollment for the following academic year?
Reenrollment for current Harmony families takes place each January.

Beginning February 1st, any remaining availability is offered to families already on our waitlist. If a space becomes available, you will be contacted directly by a member of the Harmony ownership team.

Do you offer sibling discounts?
No, we do not offer sibling discounts at this time.
Do you plan on expanding your program?
Not in the foreseeable future. Harmony began in 2022 with a lot of prayers and a dream, and we are incredibly grateful to have grown into two beautiful locations in the heart of downtown Stuart.

While we truly appreciate the continued interest and inquiries we receive, our priority has always been to keep learning highly personal and enjoyable through our small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios. To stay aligned with that mission, we do not anticipate expanding in the near future.

Is Harmony a faith-based program?
While Harmony is not a faith-based program, our core values are deeply rooted in biblical principles. This guides our approach to character, integrity, respect, and personal responsibility. These values are reflected in our handbook and in the culture we cultivate within our learning environment. However, we do not teach religion courses or integrate faith-based curriculum.
